For those who don't know, Christy, my sisters best friend and sister-n-law, lives in the SLC area. She has been here for a few years, but not until I stopped teaching have we really had the opportunity to get together. Her son Logan is a few month younger than Ellie. Since being back to Utah, we have had several play dates and get togethers. It has been so nice to hang out with each other and let our kids have fun too. So, this time Christy came our way to Orem for a little Easter play date.
We weren't sure how much eating of the dye the kids would do, so we opted to use the Kool-aid version of dying eggs in addtion to the tablets.
The kool-aid dye smelled great!
With the explanation of the rules out of the way... these kids jumped at the chance to dye eggs.
Emma enjoyed placing eggs in the dye.
Ellie also, did a great job at dyeing eggs. However, all her eggs were the same color. Logan tried all the different colors and left the egg in the dye long enough for the color to be vibrant!
Look at the beautiful orange egg.
Very intent on what she is doing
Meanwhile, Porter hung out on a blanket outside with us. He is getting so good at sitting up on his own!
Christy tried so hard to get him to smile, but Porter was very serious in all her attempts.
Love this face, you can tell this one has some sassiness to her.
While we waited for the eggs to dry so we could decorate them, we tried to play a game called bunny tower. The kids didn't play the game, but they kept busy and loved stacking the bunnies the best they could.
Each kid had eight eggs that they dyed. A proud Emma
See how bright Logan's eggs were. Love them.
Check it out!
Notice a favorite color here at all?
Good job Logan!
Love the orange dye on her hands
If dying eggs wasn't enough, Christy planned a little egg hunt. With "peanut butter" candy on the inside... no complaints on this impromptu easter egg hunt. These kids are spoiled and they don't even realize it!
Lined up and ready to go
We gave them an amount to find so it was fair. Emma helping her sister
And of course eating the goodness could not be stopped.
Thank you Christy for the fun Easter play date. What will we do when you move? Christy even had one special egg for each of the kids. It was an egg with bubbles in it. So fun!
