July's Happenings

Happy 4th of July.  Our July 4th was really low key.  Daddy set up the slip-n-slide in the backyard and the kids loved it.  After much prying, I joined in on the fun.  Then, we watched fireworks a few minutes away put on by Thanksgiving Point.  Since we didn't join up with any friends or family for the celebrations, I just had to make some fun treats for the girls to decorate.  They loved it!
This big boy is 11 months.  He continues to be a trooper dealing with his sisters who always have "too much love" to give him.
We recently have had some bad luck in the car dept.  Boyd's avalon bit the dust.  I ran out of gas on Father's day, and then it overheated.  We also replaced the radiator.  On the way to work one Friday, it stopped working.  After using the minivan to tow Daddy to work, we had the car towed home.  After further investigation, we realized at 224,000 miles, this car needed some major repair to get it going again.  So, we decided to buy another car for Boyd to commute to and from work.  The girls spend a lot of time at the dealership while we worked things out.  They were such troopers.  Now Daddy has a new car to get to work and I do not have to drop him off and then turn around and pick him up at the end of his shift.
My Mom has started her trip and the first thing on her agenda was to come and see the sights of Utah.  We met up with Oma and David on Saturday the 6th of July to feed the ducks at Wheeler Farm.
The girls wer so excited to see their Oma.
We walked around and enjoyed the farm after we fed teh ducks.  Oma brought suckers which the girls eagerly partook.
I told the girls to go inside the chicken coop so I could get  picture of them.  They loved this.  We were rained on and had to cut our visit short.
Monday, after Oma and David picked up Carter from the airport, we went to Cascade Springs.  It was a nice paved walk.  We learned how important it is to lock the stroller in place.  Porter about blew away from us.  Once again, we were rained on, but this time it was just a drizzle.
Our evening adventure was riding the Heber Creeper.  This is a train located in Heber City.  They had a special Family Night that we joined.
The girls were so excited to ride a real train.

Daddy had to work a graveyard shift, so he couldn't make it.  So, here it is a crazy mom and her 3 kids.
Oma read the book " I think I can" to the girls.  They really enjoye the story.

After reading the story, Oma gave each of my kids their very own copy of the book.  Emma and Ellie were fascinated by this new book with their name on it.
Porter was having a rough time, but managed to be a good baby during the train ride.
 My baby boy
 Oma and the girls.
They sure love Oma and have missed her.
My kids got super comfortable on the train ride.
Carter, my nephew, latched on to my little guy instantly.  It was such a relief to have extra help with the kids.  My mom an co. are spending the week here so look forard for more posts.
