Merry Christmas and Happy New Year! It has been a very busy year with a 1 year old and me being pregnant and trying to teach for my 7th year! Boyd has been busy with day school and night school twice a week. So, the 12 days off from our regular day-to-day life, was just what we needed! We had a wonderful Christmas watching Emma enjoy opening presents. Then we went to Brigham City to stay with Boyd's brother Kenny for 5 days. We had so much fun sleeping in, playing games, watching movies, and spending time with family. Emma enjoyed all the people around her. I am afraid she learned first hand what dog food and cat food tasted like. It was sometimes a big chore to make sure Emma was safe. With her ability to climb and get away fast, we were busy keeping up with her. All in all, we had a great time!
On our way back, we stopped by and visited with another brother of Boyd's. It was fun to spend time with Jay, Brenda and their girls. Then we met up with my sister's family at Temple Square. Chanda and Ryan made the crazy car trip from Texas. So, we lo0ked at the lights with them and brought back the twins for a sleepover. Chanda, Ryan, and Chandler joined us the next day. Chanda and I went shopping and the boys (all of them) played snow football. We stayed up late playing games. We laughed and laughed when we played Catch Phrase with the twins. We sure hope we will get a chance to play this again with them. Chandler enjoyed all of Kyle's and Emma's toys. Emma was glad once again to have more people around her. The Owen family left and a few hours later Kyle came over for his weekend. We played attack uno and went sledding locally.
Overall we had a fun, relaxing break. We are sad the time has passed, but this means our little girl will be here so soon. ( 7 weeks and counting)
Christmas Morning Emma is checking out her loot from Santa Claus
She loves this little piano. The blocks are placed on top, and it changes the song, or the sound that is played from the piano.
I think Emma really loved the stacking ability of the blocks. They are like huge lego blocks.
Here, Emma is opening her present from Mom and Dad. We need her to start working on her alphabet!
She knew just what to do. She loves the sound it makes. Boyd already put up all the magnets so she can't knock them down. She can only have a few to play with so we don't trip over them all over the house.
This adorable piggy was given by Emma's favorite Uncle on my side of the Family! David gave this to her. She loves this! It came with the book "If You Give a Pig a Pancake". This piggy is so soft. Emma loves soft, cuddly things.
She received a shopping cart from Santa Claus. We gave her some plastic veggies and fruit. They go perfectly! Emma tries to eat the fake food all the time. It is interesting to see what food she will try to eat.
Here is proof of her new love of this toy!
Here we are at Kenny's place. Laynie(sp), Emma's cousin just loves her to pieces. They hugged and played together really well.
Too cute
Church was a joke. Emma just wanted to walk around the entire Sacrament meeting. We went to church with Boyd's Mother. It was great to go there with her. Emma, just wanted to walk. I was so tired, so I decided to walk around with her and keep her out of trouble.
Still reading to pass the time
I was trying to get a good shot of her teeth. She has 8 teeth and four molars coming in. The top molars came first and then once they peeked through the gums, her bottom molars started to come up. Now, all 4 of them have mostly broken through the gums on all four sides. It has made for a few nights of waking up wailing, runny nose, and some diaper issues. We will be glad when teething is over.
Emma is trying to reach for my camera
Emma hanging out in a little chair. She loved this. She especially loved it because she could get to higher things when she stood on it. Poor Annie, had to be on guard with Emma around. Emma still managed to taste some foundation and find some pens in Annie's drawer.
Well, it was a great day for sledding. Kyle really wanted to go. So, I thought, maybe Emma could fit in her 24 month snow suit. I had to adjust the straps, but she fit. She looked so adorable in her marshmallow shaped body. I was laughing as she could barely walk because of all the weight she was toting around. Kyle loved sledding. Emma did not. She cried when she walked in the snow. She cried when Boyd went down with her on a sled, and she cried when she went down the hill by herself. The below picture is how she feels about sledding.
I am outta here!
Emma's favorite nook.

Emma's so big and so darn cute! I hope the next 7 weeks go fast. Are you ready for a long term sub? That is stressful enough to have the baby now! Good luck!
Cute cute Emma! Fun times!
