Cookie Decorating

Each Year, My mom does a Halloween Cookie Decorating Day for the grandkids. This year we gathered at Oma and Opa's house for a lesson and some cookie decorating on Sunday Oct. 23rd.
I read "The Spider and the Fly"
We learned how there are many spiders in our lives that will use flattery and deceit to entangle us in their webs. As a token, the grandkids were each given a really neat sparkling spider ring. This ring was to remind them to beware of the spiders that live to deceive and trap their prey.

After the lesson, the fun began. These are the only grandkids in town who thought it was cool to decorate cookies.
I must say, Kaiya is a master decorator. She is very meticulous on how she makes her cookies look.
My child, on the other hand just piles on the candy.
Ellie was given her own plate to try her hand at decorating.
Of course, sampling is a must.
My li'l Emma did a lot of that.
I think she understands cookie decorating to be a time to load up on all kinds of treats. She dug her hand in the chocolate chip bowl many times.
For the younger ones, decorating cookies is messy!
Chandler and Kaiya were the champ decorators. We had to watch Emma real closely to make suer she was licking and sticking candy on multiple cookies. We don't want to spread germs you know.
Overall, the kids had a blast eating, decorating and hanging out.
